As the Mornington Peninsula enters our second COVID-19 lockdown, it is more important than ever that we maintain the sense of connection our local community is famous for! This is where 'Behind the Dreams' comes in. We'll be meeting our vibrant, local building and design industry professionals for 10 fun, quick-fire questions.
Meet Robert Mihailescu, Director of The Cutting Hedge Landscaping and Garden Design, in Frankston South.
Rob: I have lived on the Mornington Peninsula since I was 9 years old and still love the fact that it has untamed beauty. I was a fine dining Chef in my previous life and was always focused on how food was grown therefore soil and plant were in my blood. Basically I wanted a life (not working nights and weekends in a restaurant) so I re-trained myself to become a Horticulturist and Landscape Designer. That was 20 odd years ago.
Rob: Simple. With good food and a lovely garden to look at.
Rob: Being able to exceed my client's expectations.
Rob: Landscaping and garden design, with service that is professional, punctual, efficient, no fluff, just results, on time and on budget
Rob: Split wood for our fireplace and tinker around the garden having a look at each plant closely to see how all the new growth is coming on.
Rob: Using natural stone for cladding walls and using chunky hardwood beams for natural rustic seating.
Rob: Being at the Melbourne International Flower and Garden Show for the past 3 years, I consider this the pinnacle in the industry as you are judged, crucified and rewarded at the same time by your peers and garden enthusiasts that come to the show.
Rob: That it's important to get the right person for the right job, e.g. gardening not being regulated is a little bit like everyone having a cookbook doesn't mean everyone knows how to cook.
Rob: I would be a coastal bungalow practical and tranquil.
Thank you Rob for sharing a bit about yourself with our Building Dreams community!
