We engaged David Hand to do the drafting for our renovation at Safety Beach. Our original design was drawn by our son‑in‑law in Sydney, but he wasn’t registered in Victoria — David stepped in and produced everything needed to obtain our building permit quickly and professionally.

David did the design consulting and drafting for an extensive backyard renovation for us. This included the extension of existing deck, and patio roof, pool and landscaping. We have fabulous features using iron bark pillars at the end of our pool and two significant standout feature pillars on our patio.

He and a fellow builder rebuilt our deck and extended it considerably. David has great vision as well as being hands on. The pool is the centre piece of the entertainment area and perfectly sighted from the kitchen/living area. The deck appears to float up to the pool, framed by the iron bark pillars. We now feel as if we are living in a resort! All due to David’s vision.

We then asked David to come back and do some repairs inside the house. He was professional and efficient, and completed the work in the time he said he would.

We highly recommend David. He is multitalented and does a terrific job. He is fair and honest in his negotiations, and we have come to trust his judgement and advice. David is a delight to work with and a true gentleman.
