Our SMOKO interviews continue out of lockdown… today we had Jamie Rowler of Rowler Construction who shared his Mornington Peninsula building industry insights!
Question 1… Who’s the boss?
Jamie: Definitely the wife!
Question 2… What’s the best day on the job?
Jamie: Fit off! Tiles are in, joinery is in. Painting is complete! And the new owners can come in and see their dream home for the first time.
Question 3… What’s the worst day on the job?
Jamie: Concrete stumps, they’re anxiety inducing from every builder. Because you have concrete going off, and 100’s of stumps that have to be perfect!
Question 4… What have you learnt the hard way?
Jamie: The hardest thing I’ve learnt is to delegate! You become a builder because you are a control freak, and then discover you can’t achieve your goals unless you trust your team.
Question 5… What do you wish everyone could know?
Jamie: It’s wise to get a builder involved early on in the process. That way to can best engineer the costings to best suit your build.
Tara Vandeligt: Thank you Jamie for sharing your local industry insights. We look forward to seeing more of you in the Building Dreams Facebook group!
