Smoko Interview with Chordline Barrier Inspections.

Our SMOKO interviews continue out of lockdown… today we had Phillip Tarquinio of Chordline Barrier Inspections who shared his pool fence knowledge with us, regarding the new council regulations.

Question 1… Who’s the boss?

Phillip: Depends who you ask.

I like to think it’s me…. But, ultimately my wife, Sarah. At home, she does a lot of the behind the scene stuff as well as looking after our kids. Definitely couldn’t do it without her.

Question 2… What’s the best day on the job?

Phillip: The best day is getting out and meeting other locals. As well as helping people get their barrier into compliance. Introducing them to some of our networks to help them get the job underway.

Question 3… What’s the worst day on the job?

Phillip: I hate delivering bad news. There are some really old pools, that haven’t been shown as much love and potentially the client isn’t expecting an expense of such size.

In this case, we work with the client and do our best to help.

Question 4… What have you learnt along the way?

Phillip: Taken from my own personal experience…I treat my clients the way that I want to be treated as I client when other trades come see me, so high levels of customer service is supercritical.

We provide those high levels of support and give the clients a solution.

Question 5… What do you wish everyone could know?

Phillip: Pool compliance is more than just shutting the gate.

There is a generic set of measurements that we need to take… as silly as some of them can sound.

We turn those generic measurements into reality, so it can sometimes be a challenge.

Tara Vandeligt: Thank you Phillip for sharing your local industry insights. We look forward to seeing more of you in the Building Dreams Facebook group!
