Our SMOKO interviews continue out of lockdown… today we had Bill Peagram of BP Electrical who shared his practical electrical insights…
Question 1… Who’s the boss?
Bill: Most of the time it’s the clients. However, the buck ultimately stops with me… so in that respect, I’m the boss.
Question 2… What’s the best day on the job?
Bill: Once the job is complete, and you have a happy customer. The positive feedback from the customers is the best and makes it worthwhile.
Question 3… What’s the worst day on the job?
Bill: One of the worst days on the job for me, I was in a roof with a mum possum and her kids and didn’t realise until I was a bit too close. Had to get out of that place pretty quick!
Question 4… What have you learnt along the way?
Bill: Going that little bit extra for your customers and making them feel at ease, as you are in their house most of the time. Communication is important as well!
Question 5… What do you wish everyone could know?
Bill: Safety wise… Smoke detectors have a 10year use-by date. Have a look at your one at home, push the button on the side, let the flap come down and check the date.
Also if you don’t have any safety switches in your switchboard, would definitely recommend getting those installed as they will save lives.
